Meridians

Meridians are energetic power lines in our bodies that serve specific organs or areas of our bodies. Each meridian has a name that aligns with the organ it serves and also can be treated as a healing path to release stuck energies. Traditional Chinese Medicine was the first to understand the body’s meridian system, so each one is associated with a natural element and has a layer of information based on its yin (feminine) or yang (masculine) energy.

Depending on your training, the meridians have different names. I prefer to use the names I learned through my healer. Meridians can become stuck and often through any number of inputs like watching a scary movie or seeing your finances drop. Looking at the feelings that impact our meridians will give you an idea why. The meridians known (to me) as the triple warmer, governing, and central, are the three most powerful lines of energy, with the last two accessed through the front of the body and up and over the head.

When our meridians are blocked, our bodies don’t operate at their optimum energy level. This state can feel like we’re over tired or have a general outlook that feels compressed. When you feel like your body is in a compressed state, you can quickly affect change by saying this mantra.

Meridian Mantra

“I, [state your name], release and uncreate all stuck energies in my body’s meridians that cause overwhelm and disbelief. I neutralize and harmonize any and all discordant and dissonant energies.”

Meridian lines of the Earth

Our bodies reflect the Earth and so it also has meridian lines. We know them in one form as the latitude and longitude time lines that are superimposed as a grid and are our mapping system for location. The Prime Meridian and Anti-meridian, also known as a.m. and p.m. — morning and afternoon — help us understand how we move in time and interact with the Earth. Night owls and morning people will know exactly what I’m talking about and we all have ways of finding our own rhythm individually.

The other type of meridian line is as old as the hills and are known as ley lines. I know there are some online posts that define ley lines as imaginary lines that connect famous monuments, but this isn’t correct. Ley lines are created by topographical formations, like valleys and hills and follow the topography just like our meridians follow paths in our bodies. They contribute to the overall health of the planet just as our meridian lines do in our bodies. Now you know!

When we travel down the road and across the Earth, our bodies interact with both the imposed timelines and ley lines. There is an energy exchange which also has an emotional component, like returning to your hometown after a long absence. So the next time you decide to take a road trip, think about how you are able to connect to the Earth.

When we feel a weird or suppressed energy in a house, we might call it haunted, but it is actually emotions left there by people — both past and present. I believe there are paranormal activities on Earth, but I’m not an expert, so I stay away from spooky buildings as much as I can. But we can also feel the good vibes that uplift and those places attract us. This is a phenomenon I call a timefield and can either pull us down or lift us up. When we are uplifted and feel time and space expand, we share it with others, creating a spiraling up motion. Conversely, battlefields are timefields that exist in the land as stuck energy. Don’t let the Paranorman in you feel stuck because our emotional overwhelm can cause timefields within us.

A rock may be a rock, but when they form and organize themselves in a special way, our beliefs and energy add to them and create space. And when we include music it becomes something magical. We dust our heels and feel joy when our feet make a crunching noise on the Earth’s crust and we feel unbound in time while enjoying the rhythm of music. Maybe this is why I love rock-n-roll!
